Damask linen serviette ex the ‘Discovery Antarctic Expedition 1901’; with ink stamp applied near the corner.
The British National Antarctic Expedition was organised by the Royal Society and the Royal Geographic Society, London. The ship ‘Discovery’ was purpose-built for the British National Antarctic Expedition and included amongst the crew the Robert Falcon Scott, Ernest Shackleton, Edward Wilson, Frank Wild, Tom Crean and William Lashly.
Dimensions: 64.5 x 59.5 (25.1/4” x 23.1/4”). 
Condition: In artefact condition with extensive staining.
