Ivory handled and sterling silver presentation foundation trowel with London hallmarks dated 1876 and with silversmiths markers marks ‘WE’ which could be William Evans, active around that time in London. Hardy Brothers, Sydney likely imported and engraved the presentation to: Miss Frances Hamilton Hume for the purpose of laying the foundation stone of the Wesleyan Church, Rye Park; 14 March 1878.
Condition: good, some minor surface scratching; handle with minor shrinkage cracks.
