A rare paired of timbuwara figures from the Pangia area of the Southern Highland of Papuan New Guinea. Woven cane and fibre, and pigmented with ochres, these flat figures according to Meyer (1995) where attached to doorways of men’s houses and also worn on the head for certain fertility ceremonies.
