Manus Island (also referred to as Admiralty Island) lies north-east of the Sepik and Ramu Rivers out pores of Papua New Guinea. This ceremonial ladle is made from half a coconut and has a carved handle that been attached with nut putty. Age: mid-20th century.
26.4 cm tall, 9 cm diameter (nr: 5.3 x 3.5 inches).     
Condition: good, no chips or cracks though appears to have a glue repair at base of the handle.
