A well-proportioned and carved Humboldt Bay canoe prowl ornament, decorated with a combination of earth pigments and white enamel house paint. Please inspect the surface of the truncated stern-end surface that has weathered, fine black pigmented surface and fine surface shrinkage cracks, suggestive that this prow had been used on a canoe before it had new pigments applied. Its supported on a brass and timber display stand.
