Timber picture frame with ornately surface molding with original milk-wash colour and gilt high accents. On the reverse with the retailer’s label: ‘A. Railton high class cabinet makers, upholsterers and complete house furniture, Anburn Street, Goulburn’. Dates from the late 19th to the beginning of the 20th century.
Would make an ideal frame for an ancestor’s photograph.

Condition: Displaying an aged rustic patina; there are many small chips to molding that is expected for age and use. There are some old adult borer beetle exit holes from old activity likely soon after frames manufacture, no longer active.
